About me

Mark Stump, CPA

Principal

Mark is a seasoned tax and accounting professional with nearly a decade of dedicated service to businesses and individuals across North Carolina and the Southeast. Leading as Principal at Stump CPA PLLC, he brings a forward‑thinking approach to tax planning, ensuring clients fully understand the tax strategy their businesses use and how their financial decisions impact overall tax obligations. Mark is an active member of both the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA) and the North Carolina Association of CPAs (NCACPA) and holds North Carolina CPA license #42427.

Based in the Triangle region and serving Raleigh, Durham, and Chapel Hill, Mark has guided taxpayers and small businesses through every stage of tax filing and advisory services. His experience spans a variety of client needs, but he specializes in tax advising for partnerships, S-corporations, and their owners.

Before launching Stump CPA, Mark rose through the ranks at regional and local public accounting firms, ultimately overseeing complex tax engagements with filings in most of the fifty states. His academic foundation includes a Master of Accounting from Georgia Southern University and a B.A. in English from Emory University. He is also a proud U.S. Army combat veteran. When he’s not working with clients, you’ll find him training for his next 5K or 10K, reading, or watching his beloved Philadelphia Eagles (ideally, in person).
